Hey girls and for the boys also....

How would you feel if, at the age of 49 you get a ‘wink wink’ (nammude swantham sight Adi) from a good-looking guy, in his mid-thirties? 

Yeah! This is what happened to me this past week as I was leaving my friend's house, and was waiting to turn my car towards left. Here comes this handsome guy  in an SUV  and as I was turning, this guy also slowed down his car and LOL I got a wink from him. I was like What and gave a big smile also. I was in euphoria. That simple  wink took me to yore years when I was in school and in those days these winky guys roam around freely with nonsensical comments too. They would be whistling from behind and when we turn around will get this wink or else it will be exhibitionism. Anyways, my prompt response for a wink will always be “poda patti, and thendi “ which was supposed to be the biggest abusive word and which was given with the most venomous look that I can. 

Those days, boys try their level best in

mastering this art. If we get it while we are passing in a group sure comes the next set of teasing saying he is looking at you and so on and on 😘

 

Today,  out of  blue when I got that wink wink, it took me back to those happy memories when we were living at FACT quarters where our achan was working.. 

When I conveyed to my girls,  they were like ‘Amma, what is your problem? 

And, ‘ Ayye,  how come you can even say this happily?  They dont know that golden era  where we actually enjoyed these  winks albeit harmless which we realised only later.

These days  children don’t even know what friendly eve teasing is or about these kama devanmar who used to come behind us mostly calling out nick names and also when the times when they used to play music on our intercomes. 

And when I got this wink  from a handsome fellow I was whistling( which i dont know actually) away happily while I was driving back home 🥰.

In reality each and every one of us does love to get some attention especially these harmless ones right ?
